NOTE: We were 2 players short, due to late cancellations. Redbridge CC supplied us with 2 sub players.

The first innings:
*Awesome display in the field and restricting opposition to just 118
*Excellent fielding from Aztecs, players constantly walking in and saved some crucial singles and 2 runs from being made. Much improved performance
*Bowling was good, kept the line tight
*Obaid & Kalindu were our best bowlers on the day bowling 3 overs each and taking a wicket a piece.
*Good debut by Jaideep. Economical bowling with good line and length. Will improve in the field with practice.....one to watch out for in the future.
*Good captaincy by Aahad, gave a good team talk before the match and organised the fielding impeccably. As usual being vocal and making sure fielding was kept tight

The second innings:
*Today's batting was more of an experiment to give those players who do not get much batting time a bit more experience in the middle. We put our top batsmen at the lower end of the lineup to give everyone a chance.
*Vraj & Obaid did a good job at the top, scoring runs and setting the pace
*Opposition bowled a lot of extras, hence runs scored by players was not that high
*Great running between the wickets by Ibrahim, Aayan and Aahad at the end, who took us close to that win.

Great performance by the team.....If you take into consideration that we did not have a full team and some of our best batsmen were not playing either. We came close to taking the victory, only losing by 10 runs. A concern raised by myself and the rest of the team and parents was that the oppositions opening batsmen looked older than 13 years old and hit a few long sixes in the opening overs which raised a lot of suspicion. I confirmed with opposition coach and was assured that both of them were 13 yrs old. Apart from that a good game was played and everyone felt upbeat, despite the loss as the performance was very uplifting and worthy of a win. Great bowling and fielding......which is turning out to be u13 strong point. Batting was good but needs improvement. Too many balls are used up by our batsmen without scoring. This needs to change and will change as we move forward. Want to give a special thanks to Ibrahim Hussain (Wanstead CC player) who helped the team out today with a fantastic performance. Well done to all players and parents for their support, as always you guys are the cornerstone in the kids enjoying cricket and getting us those wins!
