The first innings:
*Aztecs won the toss and decided to bat first
*Opening pair (Govind & Dhyanesh) set the pace by putting up 22 runs in the first 4 overs and not losing a wicket
*Viraj Patel scored the most runs (11) in the team with a gallant performance
*Last batting pair (Umyza & Kalindu) even though they themselves did not score as much, took full advantage of the extras given by the opposition and were excellent, running between the wickets. We gained 33 runs in their 4 over spell with no wickets lost
* Opposition gave away 85 runs in extras

The second innings:
*Excellent fielding from Aztecs, players constantly walking in and saved some crucial singles and 2 runs from being made. Much improved performance
*Aztecs made 2 catches!!! Govind & Kalindu took excellent catches to dismiss opposition batsmen at a crucial time in the game
*Slightly poor performance by the wicketkeeper (Aahad), giving away extra runs and missing a couple of stumping opportunities early in the game. However the performance improved later on and the wicket keeper made a crucial run out. Expect better performance next game
*Aztecs got 7 wickets in total with 1 of them being run out
*Dhyanesh was our most economical bowler with fantastic line and length. In his 2 overs he only gave away 4 runs and one was a maiden!
*Aahad was our best bowler with 3 wickets for 10 runs in 2 overs, with Umyza, Viraj and Zeeruk contributing with the other wickets
*Good captaincy by Aahad, gave a good team talk before the match and organised the fielding impeccably. As usual being vocal and making sure fielding was kept tight

Aztecs u13 got their first win of the season!!!!!!! Overall it was an excellent performance with bowling/fielding improving every game, but this time it was our batting that made the difference. It was great to have 2 players back in the team (Govind & Viraj) after the last performance and a new welcome addition of Dhyanesh from our u11 team, taking a step up into u13. Who was outstanding with bat and ball. Hope to see him in the next game as well.

We have a good balanced squad and as players improve in training, our team will only get stronger. Well done Aztecs and here's to a few more wins this season!! Massive, massive thanks to all our parents, who are also the loudest and our biggest supporters. This win is as much dedicated to all of you as it is to the team.
